Nail Art and Drawing Hair

  Hello everyone,

I've been doing lots of art this week, and discovering some new techniques. I thought I'd share some of the things I've learnt... :)

The first thing I've done has been nail art. I've never been that good at nails art, because my nails have always been quite short, and I've never really got the hang of nail art pens. That's why I was so pleased to find an easier method... sharpie pens!

You can use the Sharpies as nail art pens. So long as you apply one or two coats of polish onto your nails first, the Sharpies won't stain. You can use them to draw patterns and pictures on your nails. Make sure your nails are completely dry before using the sharpies, and I'd recommend that you use a top coat at the end, to stop the pen from rubbing away. Have fun, and get creative!

The other thing I've been doing has been drawing. I've been trying to learn how to draw and colour hair, to look realistic. I watched a few tutorials, and had a go...

From the tutorials, I learnt that you should create areas where the lights shining. You can do this by doing quick strokes downwards, and meeting a gap of white from quick strokes upwards. For the tutorial that I found most useful for this, click here.

I'm definitely going to try to learn more about drawing hair, because I really want to try and improve. I'm going to keep practicing, and I'll let you know how I get on, and if I learn anymore new techniques.

Do you have any tips for drawing hair? Do you have any nail art ideas? Please let me know in the comments :)

Thank you for reading,

From Beth :) x
